We continue to have trouble with shipping parts to the USA, with charges varying from $50 to $200 USD for customers to accept their package. We believe these charges are incorrectly applied given the fact that we have taken pains to complete and submit all the necessary paperwork, and the fact that the charges levied by the courier companies are completely inconsistent.

As a result, I have added two tariff categories in the Other Product category, which must be purchased when ordering to import into the USA.

PREPAID US IMPORT DUTY Level 1 is for purchases up to but not including $100.

Purchases of $100 and up to $150 will require an order of Level 2 PREPAID US IMPORT DUTY along with the product purchased.

For any purchases greater than this, or if you have questions contact us directly.

We appear to be able to ship the Gen2.5 rails by using Canada Post for the time being, with only a marginal duty being applied. For the time being we are covering this cost.

The downside to this is that Canada Post is still involved in a labor dispute, so it is possible that this method may be closed to us: in the meantime, we make hay and ship while the sun is shining!!

We have received certs for our aluminum made products and have made a few trial shipments to see what will happen now that we can declare a US source for our metal. We are still waiting for certs for our steel products.

We have now cut our backlog almost in half and with some good news from packages clearing without issue, orders may be almost back to normal shortly.

Here is the latest on shipping product to our customers in the USA.

You will have noticed that shipments have slowed and at my end, orders are piling up, a very disturbing circumstance. We have been trying various things but nothing so far has been 100% reliable in getting product in customer hands. The worst of the issues seems to be the 200% duty on aluminum products, and any customer receiving a request to pay the duty inevitably refuses the shipment and asks for a refund.

This not only wastes a lot of time, but leaves us on the hook with the shipping fees as well. The good news is that we may be able to solve this issue by providing a certificate showing we bought the metal in the USA. We are currently attempting this, although it is a challenge with records that are pre 2020.

If this fails I will be refunding all US orders until I can establish some other way of supplying goods to the USA.

On a side note: the gen 2.5 rail is made for us to our specs in Taiwan and can be shipped to the USA. However be advised that a 35% duty will apply.

We wanted to inform you about a recent change in U.S. import regulations. As of August 29, the de minimis exemption for low-value shipments has been removed, which means that all purchases shipped to the U.S., regardless of value, may now be subject to customs duties, taxes, and fees.

This change could affect your order, as additional fees may be required to clear customs. These fees can be very high ($100+) and can include processing charges levied by UPS, USPS, Fedex, etc.

If you prefer not to proceed under these new conditions, you are welcome to cancel your order for a full refund.

We appreciate your understanding.
